We welcome you to attend the third annual Historic Ashland Home and Garden Tour. I hope you enjoy the tour and encourage you to take the time to see all the homes that are open.

I would like to share with you how the funds raised on tours have been utilized.
We have established the Center Street Historic District Association Scholarship Fund. This year, we were pleased to award
the $500 scholarship to Megan Gisclon who graduated from Ashland High School. Her essay, which is included in this pamphlet, exemplifies the attitude of all who work hard to preserve the heritage of the Ashland community as showcased in the homes on the tour.

We also hosted a tea honoring Betty Plank and Alta Sims to express our appreciation for their work in establishing the Center Street Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. Glen Stewart, Mayor of Ashland, attended the event and proclaimed the day “Betty Plank/Alta Sims Day.”

The Association is in the process of purchasing historic street signs for the district. Working with the Ashland City Street Department, we will have these signs replace the existing signs from Maple Street to Samaritan Avenue, at no cost to the city. A sample of the signs will be on display at 803 Center Street during the tour.

The Center Street Historic District participated in the Ashland Symphony Silent Auction donating home tour tickets and other souvenirs of the historic district.

I truly hope that you enjoy the day and share in our enthusiasm for the historic district!

This year the Historic Ashland Home and Garden Tour will have homes outside of the Center Street Historic District. Limited transportation will be provided between the locations.
